The Youth is once again collecting mittens, hats, gloves, etc. for our soup kitchen. Items may be dropped off in the youth room or church office now until December 17.
Habitat for Humanity, an ecumenical Christian ministry that works in partner with qualifying families to help them realize the dream of homeownership.
This months mission is Silver Street UMC Soup Kitchen. Not only are cash donations appreciated, but there are other ways you can help. On the fourth and/or fifth Wednesday of each month we can use help by having people serve, clean up, cook, furnish desserts or salads. A sign-up book is on the desk by the phone at the kitchen entrance in fellowship hall.
– Educating the children of the Cumberland Mountains. Although the times have changed along with styles and technology. Red Bird Mission School still provides a safe christian environment with caring teachers and staff that renew and strengthen the school’s motto, “Enter to Learn. Leave to Serve.”

Volunteers are needed to help cook, serve, and clean up. A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board at the Elm Street entrance or contact Kathy Hardison at (812) 945-4451.
